KaneffGolf Academy at Royal Niagara

The KaneffGolf Academy at Royal Niagara has a structured golf instructional program. Based on the very popular curriculum developed at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, The Academy offers a wide variety of programs for all skill levels in the form of private lessons and group clinics as well as tournament services.

Private and Semi-Private Instruction

Each private lesson will be tailored to each student’s particular needs as they relate to their swing. The lessons are 1 hour in length and will include video analysis. In the 3, 5, and 10 session packages students will receive a DVD of their swing and a complete training guide to help further their learning process. Lessons are made by appointment only.

Skills Assessment Session

This is a half hour session where your instructor will evaluate all aspects of your game. The objective of this session is education. You will be given a personalized program based on your evaluation as well as video analysis of your swing.
Cost per Session: $30

Clinics / Workshops

All clinics are 1.5 hours in length and will only be conducted if the minimum of 4 golfers is met. The maximum number of golfers for any clinic is 15. These clinics/workshops are designed to enhance the player’s natural abilities in each of the specific areas of golf. This is a social atmosphere and may be less intimidating than a private session. Most clinics will be conducted over a 4 week period.

Beginners Golf Workshop Series

Are you interested in learning a new sport, activity or hobby? Come learn what excitement lies ahead with the game of golf. The workshop series is designed to help the newest to the sport understand in easy-to-follow-along workshops all aspects of the game of golf. The half hour workshops will cover one topic that pertains to golf a week. The participants will not be overwhelmed with all the intricate and complex instructions of the swing. They can expect to have the best in expert information passed on to them so they have the best foundation for pursuing a life long journey into this wonderfull game.

*All workshops are 30 minutes in length, with a cost of $15.

*Balls are included and equipment can be provided with prior notification.

Spring Tune-Up Clinic

This clinic will be conducted Monday thru Friday, beginning on April 26th. The clinic is designed to give golfers a refresher of their lost abilities, wake up the muscle systems of the body that control the golf swing, have their swings assessed prior to the season, or just introduce your self to the game of golf this year. The clinic will be relevant for the beginner to the low handicap player who has suffered through a long winter away of from golf and is ready and eager to get a jump-start their game. There must be a minimum of 4 golfers per day and a maximum of 15, so sign up early.
Cost: $25 per session

Couples Golf Nights

Have you been trying to get your significant other to join you on the links? Ladies, ever wonder what your significant other is doing for 4-5 hours at a time when he’s playing golf? These clinics will help couples enjoy the wonders of this beautiful game TOGETHER. Instruction for these clinics will be centered around the joys of learning and playing golf, and not the competitive forces that surround it. Couples will be learning how to effectively coach one another in a non-threatening manner. Each couple will receive 5 hours of instruction and have the opportunity to put their education to the test with nine holes of golf.

Couples Clinic #1: Tuesdays May 18th – June 8th 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Couples Clinic #2: Wednesdays August 4th – August 25th 6:00PM – 7:00PM
Cost for the Clinic: $149 (per couple)

Staff Instructor:

Corey Bristowe, CPGA Professional

Corey has 20 years of golfing experience as a player, teacher, student, and fan of the game. As a player, Corey has put his skills to the test in CPGA events, NDPGA events, on the Great Lakes Tour, and in Canadian Open Qualifiers. As a Teacher, Corey has had the privilege to work with some of North America's finest professionals such as: Jim McLean (#3 ranked instructor in North America), Donald Hepp Jr. (PGA professional/NCAA player), and Josh Doan (Head Pro, Glen Abbey G.C.).

Corey has an unmatched passion for the game of golf and wishes to share this passion with everyone who visits the great facilities at Royal Niagara. Time spent with Corey will be invaluable to the growth of your golf game, as your decision to visit the Academy is one that is taken seriously.

Whatever your skill level is, you can expect to have all your golfing needs met. Corey uses a holistic approach to his teaching as every aspect of your game will be assessed. Programs are designed to address an individual’s specific needs and can be monitored through a mentoring process via email. There is an understanding at Royal Niagara that golf has a large social component to it, so why not visit one of the various group clinics or special teaching events this year to learn the game in a fun and stimulating environment.
