New this season! The KaneffGolf Academy at Royal Niagara now has a structured golf instructional program. Based on the very popular curriculum developed at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, The Academy offers a wide variety of programs for all skill levels in the form of private lessons and group clinics as well as tournament services.

Our Programs:


Ladies Clinics: $129 for 4, 1-hour clinics

New to the game or getting ready for an upcoming corporate event? Are you looking for that initial understanding of the fundamentals? Come and enjoy the Niagara Region’s new Ladies Only golf clinics held at the Royal Niagara Golf Club. Enrol in weekly clinics for five consecutive weeks. Each week will consist of comprehensive coaching on a different area of the game. This program is highly educational and social – come on your own or join with a group of friends. A great way to connect with other golfers of similar skill levels.

One hour per week for 4 consecutive weeks. Minimum 4:1, maximum 6:1 Player/Coach Ratio.

$98 for ‘08: $98 for 4, 1-hour clinics (suggested for golfers with some experience)

Do you practice with no purpose?
You are not alone…did you know that practice only makes perfect if the practice IS perfect? Be different than the next guy/girl…enrol now in the $98 for ’08 golf clinics – designed for all golfers with some experience (not suitable for the beginner). This controlled practice environment gives those students who want some guidance using drills for skills development. These clinics cover all aspects of the game, from tee to green. Suitable for men, women and teens, ages 12 and up.

One hour per week for 4 consecutive weeks. Minimum 5:1, maximum 7:1 Player/Coach Ratio.
Week 1: Fundamental Review
Week 2: Putting/Chipping
Week 3: Pitching/Sand
Week 4: Long shots/Driving

Half-Day Golf School: $169 pp

Golfers receive 2 hours 45 minutes of coaching on four main facets of the game. This program is recommended for all levels of who want an intensive half-day of instruction as opposed to weekly lessons. This half-day of training includes:

9:30 am – 10:30 am Putting/Chipping
10:30 am – 11:15 am Pitching
11:15 am – 11:30 am Break
11:30 am – 12:30 pm Full Swing
   

Half-Day and One-Day Schools are designed to be booked on mutual availability of students and coach. It is an ideal program for corporate groups and can be accommodated in the afternoon if you prefer. The group minimum is 4:1, and the maximum is 10:2.

One-Day Golf School: $349 pp, including 9-hole greenfee

Enjoy Canada’s leading One Day Golf School program at Royal Niagara Golf Club. Golfers receive six hours of comprehensive coaching on all facets of the game from our outstanding team of Teaching Professionals. The most advanced training methods, video analysis and teaching aids are used extensively to enhance the learning experience. The program is highly educational and fun and you are certain to improve your golf skills. This program is designed for individual applicants as well as for recreational and corporate groups. It is recommended for all levels of golfers. The One-Day School includes:

  • Limited enrolment of ten students per school with a maximum 5:1 student to coach ratio
  • Deluxe Deli-lunch in the Dining Room with unlimited non-alcoholic beverages
  • Six hours of comprehensive instruction focusing on all parts of the game
  • Unlimited practice balls
  • Full access to locker facilities
  • Video analysis
  • Take home “Cheat Sheet” complete with your coach’s comments and suggestions
  • 9 holes of golf on one of our award-winning, championship courses

Head Staff Instructor: Joanne Anderson

Joanne's background includes a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and 30 years of play. She has an extensive teaching resume garnered from ten previous seasons at KaneffGolf’s Academy at Lionhead and one season the Academy of Golf at Glen Abbey. She has taught alongside Canada's best-regarded instructors at Toronto's Five-Star Golf Schools, including Ben Kern, Sandra Post, Terry Miskolczi (Canada's Golf Doctor), and at corporate clinics with Score Magazine's Shelley Woolner.

Joanne has penned instructional articles for the regional editions of “Tee to Green” magazine as well as KaneffGolf's own publication. She has been a golf consultant on CBC Radio One and delivered weekly golf tips on Canwest Global's CH Morning Live.

Joanne's group of students is comprised of every age and ability. She is comfortable teaching a variety of participants from young children to corporate groups. Being a trained coach and student of the golf swing, Joanne incorporates her knowledge of motor skill biomechanics in her teaching methods. An understanding of various instructional and learning styles has made her popular among KaneffGolf’s discerning clientele.
